6horts

2002 | 60 mins | Chinese & English subs

This is a collection of short stories written and directed by Amir Muhammad in 2002 with no actors and with the most minimal of means. Screened at various film festivals in Singapore, Australia, Canada and many more, these stories have individually won various awards as well. In not more than 15 minutes, Muhammad explores important issues like individual identity, bureaucratic problems and religion.

6horts is something I made in 2002 under the informal motto of: "Other people can do it better, but I can do it cheaper." This cycle of six shorts does not have any actors and was made with the most minimal of means. But it is my take on various aspects of life here in colourful Malaysia. - Amir
